Baldacci Tuesday ceremonially signed legislation requiring personal care agencies, home health care providers and adult day-care programs to get criminal history records of those who apply to be unlicensed assistants. The law will also bar those agencies from hiring anyone who's been a certified nursing assistant and has been the subject of a substantiated complaint of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property." The law goes into effect July 30. |
