Comments: Consumers Union has issued its third nursing home "Watch List," this time with 24 Nebraska nursing homes on it. Seven have been on the list three years in a row: Homestead Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln; Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook; Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala; Beverly Healthcare in Scottsbluff; Maple Crest Care Center in Omaha; Saunders County Community Hospital LTC in Wahoo; and Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury.

Comments: A man disabled by a brain injury was befriended two weeks ago by a man who is around 19 years old. On the day the man received his disability benefits, his "new friend" and another man threatened him with a knife and took his wallet containing more than $520.

Comments: A lawsuit has been filed against the Life Care Center of Elkhorn alleging that the facility failed "to provide adequate and trained staff and of failing to take 'the reasonable precautions that were necessary to prevent the abuse and neglect of' a 77-year-old, female resident who developed blood clots and a "super-infection of the bowel."
